How To Make WordPress Send Pingbacks In The Future When You Publish A Future Dated Post
November 10, 2005 at 10:31 pm | In Plugins | Leave a CommentBy default, WordPress sends pingbacks and trackbacks when you push the Publish button, regardless of the date you’ve assigned to the post. This means that if you future-date a post, any sites in your Update Services list will be notified of the fact that you posted, even though no one will yet be able to read it.
So you need the latest WordPress 1.5.2 and a free plugin: Wp-Cron
WP-Cron Future Pings plugin suppresses the default ping and trackback action when you post a new item dated in the future. Then (roughly) every 15 minutes the plugin checks to see if any future-dated posts are now visible to readers. If they are, the pings and trackbacks are sent!
WP-Cron is available for free at

Installation Tip:
Extract WP-Cron and WP-Cron Future Pings plugins from the zip file and upload them in your WordPress plugins directory.
Then activate both plugins in your admin section.
